“25 Stories for 25 years” Joe: My Favourite Project At FRP The mOm Incubator

One of the things I love most about working at FRP is the variety of projects I get to be involved in. No two days are the same, and I’ve had the chance to work on products that genuinely make a difference in people’s everyday lives. But if I had to pick a favourite, it would have to be the mOm Incubator.

FRP started working on the mOm Incubator project back in 2020, and from the very beginning, it felt like something special. I was involved from the early-stage design all the way through to full production. I helped with Design for Manufacture (DFM), refining the design so it could be produced efficiently and reliably, and played a key role in getting the mouldings made.

What makes this project stand out for me is the real-world impact it’s had. The incubator is now being used in six countries, including in war zones such as Ukraine, and is now being used to great benefit in the NHS here in the UK. Knowing I’ve contributed to something that’s helped save thousands of babies’ lives is incredibly rewarding.

There have also been some great memories along the way including events and meetings across the UK, Ireland, China, and the Netherlands. I’ve been lucky to have the chance to travel and see the broader impact of the work we do at FRP. The mOm project is one I’ll always look back on with pride and I’m grateful we’re still supporting them with parts to this day.
